4A Games did a really good job with Metro Exodus which is now confirmed for the next-gen consoles, but a new Metro is also underway.
Metro Exodus was a big favorite of mine when it was released in 2019 and not entirely unexpectedly maybe the game will get an update to Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X. Exactly what this means, 4A Games has not really gone into but we can probably count on 4K resolution, higher frame rate and maybe ray tracing that was included in the PC version. Exactly when this update will be released for next-gen we do not know at the moment, we hope for earlier 2021.
But at the same time as this was confirmed, we now also find out that the developers are working on a new Metro game that will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X and of course also on PC. Among other things, 4A Games says that their game engine needs to be improved a lot in order to be able to take advantage of all the extra power that the next-gen offers, while at the same time there seems to be multiplayer going on in the next Metro as well.
It is 10 years since Metro 2033 was released and to fix this they have created a small video that shows where everything started and where you are today, a lot has happened and I think that all the games are still up to date.
