An update from Polyphony Digital

Dear Gran Turismo Community,

Thank you for your continued support and feedback on Gran Turismo 7, your voices have not gone unheard. I would like to apologize for the frustration and confusion caused last week with our patch updates that resulted in not only a server outage, but also adjustments to the game economy that were made without clear explanation to our community.

We know this isn’t the Gran Turismo experience you’re expecting and we’ll be making a goodwill gesture in the form of a 1 million Cr. unpaid credit package available to those players who may have been affected*. You will see this arrive in your accounts shortly. Make sure to log in to the game before April 25th to claim the credits.

The previously implemented patch update was intended to fix an issue with inconsistent reward payouts within a portion of the world circuit events. But in order to restore the intended balance and deliver more accurate rewards based on time investment and completion, the entire reward system had to be recalculated.

To improve the player experience, we will be rolling out a sizable patch in early April. The number of events will be increased and we will restore the more balanced reward system throughout the game to benefit all players.

Updates that will go into effect in early April:

  • Increases the rewards in the events of the second half of the world circuits by approximately 100% on average.
  • Added high rewards for completing the track experience on all Gold/All Bronze results.
  • Increased rewards in Online Racing.
  • Include a total of eight new one-hour drag race events for missions. These will also have higher reward settings.
  • Increase the upper limit of unpaid credits in players’ wallets from 20M Cr. to 100M Cr.
  • Increase the number of Used and Legend cars on sale at any time.

Beyond this, there will be some additional patches rolling out between now and the end of April that will add new cars and course designs and make a few other fixes.

Finally, we also want to take the opportunity to present some of the short-term updates that we are working on. We cannot confirm an exact date or details yet, but we will let you know in advance via www.gran-turismo.com.

  • Increase the payout value of limited time rewards as we build a live service.
  • More additions to the World Circuit event.
  • Addition of drag races to missions, including 24-hour races.
  • Addition of online time trials and awarding of rewards according to the difference of the player with the best ranked time.
  • Do it so the cars can be sold.

We want to thank you for your continued patience and valuable feedback as we grow and evolve GT7 to make it as enjoyable and rewarding for as many players as possible. We always want to keep the lines of communication open with our community so we can work together to create the best possible racing experience.
