In the same year, the tournament The International was organized with a total prize pool of as much as 2.9 million dollars. The development was fast and already in 2014, Dota 2 had a total of 7.86 million monthly players, more than the popular game World of Warcraft. The number of active players per month increased to 10 million in 2015. At the same time, Dota generated 2 monthly revenues of 18 million dollars. 2017 was an important year for e-sports as the International Olympic Committee discussed upgrading e-sports to an official Olympic sport at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. International competitions have gone from strength to strength and continue to grow rapidly. Dota 2 has over time become one of the biggest games in E-sports competitions and it is now popular with betting on this game.

Team Secret

Team Secret is a professional European E-sports team that includes the Swedish player Ludwig Wåhlberg, the Finn Lasse Urpalainen and the Pole Michał Jankowski. The team finished second in the group stage and then defeated OG 2-0 and Invcitus Gaming in the first two elimination rounds. In the semifinals, however, they lost to the Chinese team PSG.LGD. Team Secret ended up in third place and received a prize money of just over 3.6 million dollars.

Invictus Gaming

Invictus Gaming is a Chinese E-sports team that was created in 2011. The team managed to become group leader in group A. After an initial victory against Team Spirit with 2-1, the team lost to Team Secret with 2-0. Invictus Gaming ended up in fourth place and received a prize money of 2.4 million dollars.
