Audi shows off the concept car A6 e-tron

Audi has now presented its new concept car Audi A6 e-tron in connection with Auto Shanghai 2021. The car is described as a precursor to a new set of all-electric production cars from Audi. Among other things, it uses the four-door, all-electric “sportback” luxury model of the new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform, which will premiere in 2022.

The Audi A6 e-tron can be quickly charged up to 250 kW and has a range of over 700 km (based on the WLTP standard). In ten minutes it should be possible to charge the battery for 300 kilometers of driving and in less than 25 minutes the battery should be able to go from 5 to 80 percent. The car should also be able to do 0 to 100 km / h in less than four seconds.

The car also represents a completely new design concept that only shares the dimensions with previous A6 cars. The vehicle measures 4.96 meters in length, 1.96 meters in width and 1.44 meters in height while the wheels are 22 inches. The new design will mean an air resistance coefficient of 0.22 cW, which is the lowest ever for an electric car in the C-segment. The low cW value means less energy consumption, which leads to a longer range for the car. The color of the car should also contribute to lower energy consumption in that the passenger compartment is not heated so easily that air conditioning needs to be used.

In addition, the car has three small high-resolution LED projectors built into the side that turn the ground under them into a stage when the doors open. Small light effects can also print greeting messages and the lights can also warn cyclists nearby that a door is about to open. The Audi A6 e-tron also has a LED headlight that can be used to project an image on a large surface so that the driver, for example, can play video games on a large image while waiting for the car to charge.
