Battlefield 2042 players can expect to see a huge number of fixes and improvements added to the game today, laying the foundations for Season 1: Zero Hour, which will be revealed soon.

It’s a big day for DICE and the Battlefield 2042 community, which kicked off this morning with the release of Update 1.0.0. The update includes a ton of quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and new additions to prepare the game for Season 1. Yes, Season 1 is almost upon us and it’s set to be revealed today via a gameplay trailer at 8am PT/11am ET/4pm BST/5pm CEST. DICE will follow up later this week with a rundown of what we can expect to see when Season 1 releases.

Update 1.0.0 weighs in at around 10GB on Xbox Series X|S consoles and features another massive list of improvements. The full changelog can be seen on the Battlefield 2042 website, so we’re only going to look at the more notable additions that are now available to all players.

Both soldiers and weapons have been given some love this month, with soldier animations and movement offering a smoother experience. The weapon net code has been updated to improve bullet hit registration, accuracy improvements have been added to shotguns, and LMGs and DMRs have had their bullet speeds increased. For particular Specialists, Sundance’s Wingsuit has been nerfed to allow for shorter flight times, although manoeuvrability should now be improved. You can also say goodbye to the EMP Field Smart Explosive, which has been removed to “simplify” Sundance’s Specialty.

On the battlefields themselves, you’ll now find even more non-combat world vehicles in the Conquest game mode, which looks to offer you a faster way to navigate the map — or be
