Daniel Mullins’ “inky black card-based odyssey” Inscryption launched on PC in late 2021 to a rapturous reception, with critics and players alike rushing to sing the game’s praises without wanting to give too much away. Like Mullins’ previous mind-melting wonder Pony Island, there are surprises galore here and all is not what it seems, and it’s a wild ride that you really need to experience for yourself to fully appreciate. Now, after shadow-dropping on Xbox at last, Inscryption joins the ranks of the best roguelites on the system.
