Next week on Tuesday the 11th of May we turn the pages and start a new season in Destiny 2 with Season of the Splicer. The killing machines Vex have on the left created a simulation that put the last city in an eternal darkness. It’s up to you, with the help of Ikora Rey, Osiris and Mithrax to hack the robots and save humanity from destruction. Season of the Splicer introduces a new activity for up to 6 players in which you must steal their code to defeat them. Furthermore, we get access to a mission that develops every week – and is probably linked to an exotic weapon.
Season of the Splicer reintroduces a classic raid from Destiny 1, Vault of Glass. In this very first raid in the history of the game series, a group attacks a hub in Vex’s time machine, deep inside Venus, to kill its guard Atheon!
A hotly debated feature that sees the light of day in Season of the Splicer is Armor Synthesis, which lets players transform the look of armor into ornaments (Destiny language for transmog). Help Ada-1 design a machine called the Loom to then produce the material necessary to transform the look of armor into ornaments that can be applied to all your armor. The feature, however, is a hot potato when Bungie explained that players will only be able to do 10 syntheses per character per account each season, which greatly limits players’ opportunities to use syntheses – unless they open their wallets of course and buy more syntheses. Do you understand where the shoe rubs?
