Dead Island 2 re-revealed with new gameplay trailer and release date

Dead Island 2 has been re-revealed with a new gameplay trailer nine years after it was first announced. Dead Island 2 releases on February 3rd for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

Following a leak that pretty much detailed most of the game, developer Dambusters and publisher Deep Silver dropped both a cinematic reveal trailer and a gameplay trailer for Dead Island 2 during Gamescom Opening Night Live, before announcing a February 3rd release date.

The gameplay trailer is an absolute gore-fest. Things start serene and gentle before all hell breaks loose, and the action ramps up to ten with skulls being smashed open and blood filling the screen.

Dead Island 2 is set in Los Angeles, which unsurprisingly has fallen to a deadly virus that’s turning everyone into zombies and is spreading through the city. You will have six different characters to choose from, each with their own personality and dialogue. There is also a new skill system that allows you to “re-spec instantly and try out the craziest builds.”

Naturally, there are numerous editions of Dead Island 2 up for preorder on the Xbox Store. Dead Island 2 comes in three editions: Standard, Deluxe, and Gold, and there is also an Expansion Pass:
