To celebrate today’s release and the first day of Xbox Game Pass launch, we wanted to explore how the companion game, Eiyuden Chronicle: Risingestablishes the universe and builds up to the coming Eiyuden Chronicle: One Hundred Heroes† To do that, we’ve gathered answers to some of our most popular questions from legendary game designer Yoshitaka Murayama.

Eiyuden Chronicles: Rising is a prologue. How much time is there between Hundred Heroes and rise? Months? years? Decades?
This takes a few months to a year for the main story to begin and for the characters to come out Rising will be in the main story of Eiyuden Chronicle.

Rising is set before the war in Hundred Heroes break out. Do the characters feel like war is coming? If so, how does this affect them?
There isn’t really a sense of war as a backbone yet, but Rising stands as a story that can be enjoyed on its own.

Why make the board game, Risinga city-building side scroller with real-time action battles instead of turn-based like Hundred Heroes
Unlike the main story Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising is a smaller game. Therefore, production time was limited and we chose a format for players to enjoy.

What would you say to fans concerned about the team spending time and resources on Rising that could be spent on One Hundred Heroes?
Rising is independently planned and produced by Natsume Atari, which is a separate team from the main production team of Eiyuden Chronicle† Don’t worry, every team does their best for both Rising and the main story.
