Good good good. Elden Ring, you can’t do this to us! Fake, illusory walls have been a staple of FromSoftware titles since 2009’s Demon’s Souls, hiding bonus items and weapons behind seemingly stable surfaces that you need to hit to make them melt. It only takes one attack to make them disappear, but this new Elden Ring reveal could turn the mechanic on its head. That is if it is not a mistake.
As detailed in twitter video then it has been discovered that there is another illusory wall in volcano mansion. The area is already teeming with them, but this new one requires a little more than a sword swing to reveal. In fact, it requires a lot of swings Exactly 10 seconds of views in a sped up video!
Now, the interesting thing here is that the wall doesn’t act like any other usual illusory. Besides the fact that it takes an absurd number of hits to disappear, of course. There’s no hint of the normal audio signal to confirm that it’s a fake wall, and the bricks literally just drop out of the frame all of a sudden. Also, the wall respawns after resting at a Grace Site. With this in mind, there is definitely a chance that this is just a glitch.
But what if it isn’t? Have all those messages trying to troll us been real all this time? Are we going to have to go around attacking every wall in the game for 30 seconds now? Let’s hope, despite our own sanity, that this is simply a mistake. Nobody has time for that! Hopefully this is not a new article that we have to add to our Elden Ring Guide in the near future.
