The first images of Yakuza 8 have popped up online, showing Yakuza: Like a Dragon favourites, Ichiban Kasuga, Koichi Adachi, and Yu Nanba.
As reported by Famitsu, these images of what appear to be the sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon, come from a new video uploaded to YouTube by Japanese MMA fighter Mikuru Asakura, who toured the Sega Sammy offices in Tokyo.
First look at Yakuza 8
This is our first look at the previously-announced Yakuza: Like a Dragon sequel. While we don’t have much to go on, we can see that Yakuza: Like a Dragon protagonist, Ichiban has ditched that glorious signature afro hairstyle and has instead just slicked it back.
We haven’t seen or heard anything on the sequel since it was confirmed to be in development back in October last year. However, we do know that developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is sticking with turn-based RPGs for the Yakuza franchise, so if you enjoyed Like a Dragon’s turn-based combat, you have more of that to come.
Have you played Yakuza: Like a Dragon? What did you make of it? Excited for more? let us know down in the comments.
