Naughty Dog had a whole lot of expectations to live up to when they announced the successor to the star candy The Last of Us. After years of sweat, toil and late nights, the company showed that it at least gave reasons for its name. The Last of Us: Part II was packed with content that boarded the predecessor with horse lengths. The story was extremely well written, the characters as well and the design exquisite from start to finish.
The emotions and drama never wanted to end when enemies and friends faced each other on the assembly line. In other words, there was no doubt what story the studio wanted to convey, all framed in eerie, apocalyptic tones.
Despite fierce competition, it was actually not difficult to choose the candidate Game of the Year 2020. The Last of Us: Part II is a milestone in game history and will be very difficult to surpass. Unless Naughty Dog is investing in a third installation in the same spirit that is.
Congratulations we say at Varvat.
