Halo Infinite: Microsoft announces the launch of the beta tonight, on all platforms

The Xbox Series X | S has been available for over a year now, so it’s been a long time since would-be Spartans have been waiting for the return of Master Chief, and the arrival of Halo Infinite.

The road was long, and strewn with pitfalls, but the reunion with the helmeted hero of Microsoft is within shooting range. On the occasion of the twentieth anniversary of the launch of the first Xbox of the name, Microsoft wanted to offer a little surprise to the players present for the occasion, and announced the immediate availability of the Halo Infinite multiplayer beta. There, now, immediately.

Such a long absence

This time, you don’t need to be a member of any program: all you need is a PC, Xbox One, or Xbox Series X | S (and an Internet connection) to download the Halo infinite multiplayer beta, and measure by yourselves the progress made by 343 Industries since the first presentation (then the postponement) of the game:

For now, only Xbox Cloud Gaming is still excluded from the equation, a lack that should be rectified “very soon”, according to the manufacturer. The others will be able from this evening to indulge in the simple pleasures of deathmatchs, and thus allow Microsoft to adjust its last knobs before the launch in due form, still scheduled for December 8:

As we prepare for a significant increase in the number of players ready to join the Halo Infinite ranks on December 8, we want to make sure all of our systems are up and running. While you may run into issues and bugs during this beta period, it does mark the official launch of Season 1 of Halo Infinite., with all maps, modes and the full Battle Pass. Personalization items that you earn or purchase during the beta will stay with you after December 8.

Plans may change

You will understand: the adventure begins a little before the hour for the highly anticipated FPS from the Xbox Game Studios label, if we obviously stick to its new release date. And because the time may have seemed long to some, the manufacturer is trying to be forgiven:

We took advantage of this deadline to add additional events, customization elements and other types of content to this first season: Starting today and for the entire first week, you can log into Halo Infinite to unlock a free collection of 20th anniversary-themed cosmetics from the series.

Unlike the initial plans, which called for changing Seasons every three months, Season 1 of Halo Infinite will run until May 2022., just to give the teams of 343 Industries the opportunity to review their roadmap, which we imagine to be quite upset.

You will have understood it: Halo Infinite’s multiplayer beta is available now, and will be offered in free-to-play from its launch, still scheduled for December 8 on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S. So this is patience?
