Halo Infinite showcases its free multiplayer mode

Game developer 343 Industries has now unveiled the free multiplayer mode for the upcoming Halo Infinite. This will be the first time a Halo game offers its multiplayer mode for free.

“We come from a player-first mentality, which means there is no random loot and there are no loot boxes. It is very important to us that everyone understands exactly how they unlock content in the game and we have different ways they can do that. it on “, says the game’s Live Design Director, Ryan Paradis.

Because even if the multiplayer mode itself is free, there will still be opportunities to unlock cosmetic content in it that can be used to customize the look of your character. However, none of the content should give players special benefits during matches.

Unlocking cosmetic content can be done, among other things, by the player buying a battle pass that allows them to unlock things by performing various tasks in the game. Unlike some other games, 343 Industries will, however, prevent a battle pass from going out after a while. In future seasons of the game, players will also have the opportunity to buy new as well as old battle passes and choose which of them they want to make progress in.

Content in a battle pass can only be unlocked by playing. It will not be sold separately elsewhere.

To welcome new players, Halo Infinite will also have a special academy where they can train against, for example, cures.

Halo Infinite will be released sometime this Christmas for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.
