Crytek swells the ranks of its teams with Mattias Engström, the director of the excellent Hitman 3. Does the FPS seek to offer a more convincing infiltration experience?
Development of Crysis 4 is still in its infancy and this new hire proves it. Crytek found its game director by going to the prestigious Danish studio IO Interactive.
The Hitman 3 School serving Crysis 4
The game’s Twitter account made the announcement: Hitman 3 Director Mattias Engström Joins Crytek as Game Director of Crysis 4.
We are pleased to announce that Mattias Engström, known for his work as a director on Hitman 3 at IO Interactive, is joining the Crysis family as director for the fourth installment of the franchise. He takes up his post this week.
Good news ? Yes, even excellent news when you know all the qualities of Hitman 3, which came to conclude the last trilogy brilliantly. With Mattias Engström at the controls, we can hope for an infiltration component with small onions for Crysis 4. Indeed if the nano-suit has a combat mode, infiltration is also a significant part of the license.
But Engström should also bring his know-how in level construction, he who was a level designer on Hitman and Hitman 2. A very nice CV.
Plenty of vacancies
In his second tweet, Crytek gives a link to various job offers. Clearly, Crysis 4 is not for tomorrow. For example, the studio wants to find an artistic director or an artist responsible for the characters.
As of now, the game is still in the early stages of development, so we’ll have to wait a bit longer, but we wanted to break the news to you now, as we’re very excited for the future, and for let you know that we will be listening to our community.
As the development progresses, we will give you more details as soon as possible. In the meantime, know that our talented and dedicated team is working hard to bring you a truly next-gen shooter.
If you think you have the skills, why not apply (don’t forget to thank Gameblog in the game credits if it’s done).
