Jack Black will play Claptrap in the Borderlands movie

Cate Blanchett (Lilith), Kevin Hart (Roland) and Jamie Lee Curtis (Tannis) have already signed on for the seemingly remarkably lavish Borderlandsthe movie. And now director Eli Roth has also found his Claptrap, and it is none other than Jack Black who will borrow the robot mascot’s voice!

The information has reached us via Hollywood Reporter, where we also find out that Jack Black and Cate Blanchett have collaborated with Eli Roth before during the filming of The House with a Clock in Its Walls. Eli Roth adds that “Claptrap is [spelets] funniest character, and Jack is perfect for taking him to the screen ”.

In addition to the new Jumanji movies (where Jack Black starred alongside Kevin Hart!), Jack Black is also known for his acting appearances, most notably as roadie Eddie Riggs in Double Fine’s action / strategy hybrid Brutal Legend from 2009. Jack Black and Double Fine will also reunite soon, as Jack Black also lends his voice to a singing globe in the upcoming platform adventure Psychonauts 2.

Here is the Hollywood Reports tweet about Jack Black’s participation in Borderlandsthe movie.
