Listen to CRPG nerds, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous on console in March

Lead your armies to glory and heroism! Or death, up to you.

After a thunderous success on Kickstarter which drew in over two million gold coins and a player-driven beta, it’s soon time to gather the troops and go out into a holy war in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous! A spiritual and independent sequel to the popular Pathfinder: Kingmaker from 2018, you can look forward to grandiose adventures, tricky decisions and old-fashioned dagger-in-the-back conspiracies. Choose from ten different races, 21 different professions with specializations and distinctions, use among a thousand different magical spells and skills – and best of all: take control of your destiny with the six new mythical paths. Become a divine angel and kill your opponents in holy fire and protect your comrades with healing powers; or control the living dead like a lich.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous puts you at the head of a sacred crusade with the aim of counteracting the demonic fortification conquered by the hordes of hell. A classic story of good versus evil, but with the freedom we have come to expect from role-playing. Make agreements with dark powers for supernatural powers, forbidden knowledge to bring the dead to life, or let cosmic justice flow through your body. How you choose to defeat the demonic forces is up to you. To help you, you have a bunch of unlikely fighters from different castes and with your own talents.

For those who do not know, Pathfinder is basically a table role-playing game with a rules system strongly inspired by Dungeons & Dragons. Those with experience of Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights will feel at home, both in the rules and in the design. The world, on the other hand, is unique, despite familiar races and professions, with exciting background stories and stories that drive the stories forward. If Wrath of the Righteous is of the same quality as Kingmaker, fans of role-playing games have something to look forward to in the autumn rush – or late winter if you play console.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous will be released on September 2 on PC via Steam, GOG and Epic. Later on March 1, 2022, the console version will be released on both Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
