Mario Golf: Super Rush to Nintendo Switch is now almost 40 days away and that means it’s time to show off some news. In a new trailer, Nintendo shows a bunch of new game modes and which characters we have to choose from when the game is released on June 25.
New game modes
As usual for portable Mario Golf games, the game will include one Adventure Mode. Here you play as a custom Mii character and get to the top. Via role-playing mechanics, you can become stronger, while learning the game’s controls and peculiarities.
Speed Golf has looked very different from the old days. IN Mario Golf: Super Rush all players hit their ball from the tee surface at the same time and run after it while laying hook legs and in other ways making life miserable for the opponents. Here you also get use for each character’s unique bull rushes and special shots. Imagine four people, each with their own JoyCon, all using motion control and standing fully prepared in front of the sofa.
Battle Golf takes place in an arena where nine holes are played simultaneously and the first to three won holes takes home the game. An interesting shot at mini golf, which gets a dose of Battle Royale in it.
In addition to new game modes, the control has undergone a transformation. In addition to motion controls (which work in all game modes except Golf Adventure – why?) Have Mario Golf: Super Rush equipped with several tools that make the game easier for beginners. In other words, for those of us who sat and chewed on the control of despair in Mario Golf 64, a much friendlier experience awaits here.
What’s up with Merio Golf?
I always thought Mario Golf was a relaxing game series, albeit with its frustrating areas for younger players (the AI in the N64 original is not gracious). Mario Golf: Star Rush seems to be anything but relaxing. Gone are the calm melodic tones signed Motoi Sakuraba, and in come fanfares and bombastic rock songs. Sure, traditional golf will remain, but who will run it when you can have this amount of chaos? We’ll even be able to swear at each other online (well, we who have a subscription to Nintendo Switch Online, at least). Mario Golf is trying something new, and I’m fat!
