We already know that Cyberpunk 2077 would be a demanding game, but that not even the RTX 3090 can handle it makes one skeptical.
Now has Nvidia presented some performance figures for Cyberpunk 2077 and this then with their flagship card RTX 3090. They increased the resolution to 4K UHD and of course the graphics settings on “Ultra” and with ray tracing started.
When all this is running, the RTX 3090 really gets sweaty, with DLSS turned off, you end up with just over 22 FPS, demanding games or not well optimized, we will see in a few months. But when DLSS is running, the number of frames (FPS) increased by over 160 percent and then went from 22 to 57.8 FPS, not even the RTX 3090 can reach 60 FPS, which is surprising.
If you sit on an RTX 3080, you get up to 51.8 FPS, which is not a big difference on the 3090, if you sit on the previous generation RTX 2080 Ti, the FPS is only 38.2.
In short, we can say that playing in 4K if you are picky when it comes to high FPS is not an option at the moment, not even with the most powerful card on the market.
If you want to get your FPS up to almost 100, you have to turn down the graphics to 1920 x 1080 with the graphics settings on “Ultra” and then with RTX 3090 you get 96.6 FPS.
Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) is, in short, a must to be able to screw up your FPS in the game and it is perhaps lucky that we have the function at the moment.
What I’m thinking about now is how Cyberpunk 2077 looks on console considering that on PC the requirements are sky high to even reach over 60 FPS, I almost feel sorry for the console players and especially those on PS4 and Xbox One as the graphics must look clean catastrophic out.
