Pokémon begins collaboration with Universal Studios Japan

Universal Studios Japan now announces that they have launched one cooperation with The Pokémon Company. The two companies will now work with what is described as “groundbreaking innovative technology” to develop attractions that will allow theme park guests to dive into the world of Pokémon.

What this means more precisely is unclear, but the first project will appear sometime in 2022.

“We are honored to have a far-reaching collaboration with The Pokémon Company as we develop groundbreaking Pokémon entertainment at Universal Studios Japan for both Pokémon fans and our guests. The globally popular Pokémon characters combined with Universal’s innovative thinking to create authentic and unique Amusement park entertainment will bring fun to the whole family, “said Universal Studios Japan CEO JL Bonnier in a press release.

“For 25 years, Pokémon has cured a collection of trend-setting innovations while becoming one of the most beloved entertainment brands in the world through video games, animation, and more,” said The Pokémon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara in the same press release.

“This strategic alliance with Universal Studios Japan reflects our continued commitment to continue to deliver Pokémon joy in new ways for years to come.”
