You’ve seen Halo games on Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. You may have played one or two on PC, especially since Halo: Master Chief Collection hit the platform in 2019. However, you probably haven’t seen Halo on Nintendo 3DS, but did you know it is doing to exist?
reddit user lovely prisms recently took to the Halo subreddit to show off, well, a version of Halo running on a 3DS console. It’s a bit like those ‘demakes’ you see floating around (similar Elden Ring a), where modders and developers bring modern games back to the past. It’s been around for a few years now, known as “Halo Revamped”, and it exists on the Sony PSP and even the SEGA Dreamcast!
This particular effort is a “Halo-style Quake mod” with multiplayer, with the user loading the Halo 2 ‘Lockout’ map above for a quick bash. That said, we had to go to the comments to see that as it’s safe to say the images look quite different!
To access this on Nintendo 3DS, you need to install homebrew – which basically requires you to customize your 3DS console. We don’t endorse this, but it’s interesting to see Halo running on Nintendo’s handheld anyway.
This kind of wearable Halo effort isn’t new. A quick YouTube search will yield a few different results
