Fasten your seat belt, now it’s off!
Me, my brother and my dad went on Monster Jam in the Globe somewhere around 2004 or 2005 and that was quite frankly shitty. I’ve been digging monster trucks since I saw Big Foot crush cars in Road House and when Tackleberry steering wheel one in Police Schoolthe movies. The competitions have also been fun to watch on TV, but the coolest is when they plow straight over a couple of cars. So when Monster Jam Steel Titans 2 appeared in the review pile so I threw myself over it.
At first we only have one car and it is neither very nice nor advanced, but during the game we can unlock a plethora of cool rides (as many as 38 actually). That which is really fun with Monster Jam Steel Titans 2 is that the game has the license of the famous Monster Trucks such as Grave Digger. Through simple and smart tutorials, you will learn how to steer your very own Monster Truck; Here are many tips and tricks to learn to win the competitions.
Between the competitions, you can drive around in a fairly large sandbox-world filled with different challenges and bonus points. You can make different jumps or why not just get around and smash a lot of things in your path? Then you can go to the next competition and here the real game begins (not completely different Forza Horizongames). Each part you need to master a certain feature with your Monster Truck. It can be anything from driving the fastest around a track or driving as long as possible on the rear wheels. My favorite courses were when I had the pleasure of crushing as much as possible.
It’s fast-paced, easy and fun – but unfortunately this is not one simulator. It is quite unrealistic how you drive, what happens and even if the developers have managed quite well with the dynamics to give the impression that you drive such a tall vehicle, it is still not really realistic. There is even a warning text at the beginning of the game stating that it is in no way representative of reality. When you crash or crash, pieces of your fiberglass body fall apart, but it’s quite simple to do and even though the graphics are generally nice, the animations are quite simple and limited. It’s a shame, because considering how nice animations you can do now in the past, it would have been really cool if you could run over things and these were realistically crushed under the oversized wheels.
Monster Jam Steel Titans 2 can be enjoyed alone on the couch or online which is also a fun plus. So in summary, this is still a fun and fast-paced game, with some minor flaws – but despite that, this is worth a clear recommendation!
