Review: Spider-Man: Miles Morales –

Spider-Man: Miles Morales offered an adventure I did not think I missed but what adventure and what story, came from nowhere.

When Spider-man on Playstation 4 was finally released in 2018, it quickly became a favorite with me but also many others. But once it was over, when we did not get much more story after a few DLC, we thought it was over.

But so wrong we were, Insomniac has since worked on Spider-Man: Miles Morales who is not a sequel but still a sequel in his own way. We get to follow Miles Morales this time instead of Peter Parker, a character who came into being through the movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse which is a must if you are a Spider-Man fan or like Marvel movies in general.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

In Spider-Man: Miles Morales, we should not think that Miles and Peter are enemies, on the contrary, they have become two good friends who in turn fight crime but also help with much else in New York City. They have become good friends and you can almost see Miles as a Padawan to Peter where he should learn as much as possible and make wise decisions, easier said than done for a 17-year-old perhaps.

The story in Spider-Man: Miles Morales is in short that Peter Parker (real Spider-man) takes a short vacation and goes away, then Miles Morales is commissioned to keep order in the city in a way that only Spider-man can . It sounds easier said than done and so is the case, not entirely unexpected maybe a lot happens in the city and to make things even worse it is from people that Miles has a strong connection to. That is probably also what makes the story itself make the game extremely interesting and it was a long time ago that I just wanted to continue with the story to see where all this leads to.

In addition to having an interesting story to take part in, there are also a lot of side quests in different ways in Spider-Man: Miles Morales. For example, Miles and his best friend Ganke Lee have developed an app where the people of New York can request help in various ways from Spider-Man, clearly a modern and smart way to implement side quests in the game. But there is also the opportunity to fight crime when exploring the city, something we recognize from the first Spider-Man.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

The game mechanics of Spider-Man: Miles Morales is very similar to the previous Spider-man, we have tight controls when it comes to swinging forward in New York. When it comes to the battles, the controls are just as tight there and very reminiscent of the first game. However, we have some new combos and Miles has some new abilities that provide as an addition to the game and all of a sudden the missions can vary significantly more. Just like in the previous Spider-Man, I quickly get caught up in the battles in the game

Graphically, Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a masterpiece in its own way, Insomniac, which is the gang behind the game, has not only built New York City in detail, but also with the graphics included such as reflections and the like, all for the best possible experience in the game . What I am most impressed with and what I appreciated most was clearly the camera angles that are used in different ways, these angles we are involved both between different film sequences but also during the time we play where the angle can vary depending on space, situation and the like.

The voice actors are at least the same class as the graphics, they are really committed people who lend their voices, which gives just the right experience in Spider-Man: Miles Morales and just the experience that the game deserves considering everything else that is of high quality.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

There is so much more I want to talk and share with you about the current Spider-Man: Miles Morales but I think this is something you should try yourself, that I tell you it can be a real spoiler and you do not get the same first experience as me got and all the surprises one has to look forward to.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales is probably just the beginning of what Spider-man will have to offer in the future. Seeing a closer collaboration between Miles and Peter is clearly something I think many want to see, the enemies are getting tougher but so are our Spider-men. Sony probably has huge plans for Spider-Man so we just have to have a little more patience and wait to see what actually comes.
