Review: Spitlings – SENSES

Do not let the simple graphics fool you!

To be completely honest with you dear readers (and I will, that’s my job) – when I started Spitlings so at first I reacted really negatively to the extremely simple graphics. The intro cut scene is nicely done and really looks like an animated comic book. Then you get into the game and it looks extremely simple and cheap.

Five minutes later, though, I’m stuck. Spitlings perhaps looks easy out, but it gets really harder and trickier the further into the game you get. You quickly forget the simplicity of the graphics and are fully concentrated on how many spittoons you have left and where the balls below bounce. Every time you die, there is a small imprint and in the end the whole picture is full of them if you die often. Which you will do on some courses.

During the game, you can unlock new Spitlings in your fight against the bouncing enemies that have attacked their home. The only negative I can see with Spitlings is the same as other games in the genre – that they quickly become quite repetitive. Then you simply have to take a break and spit on bouncy balls another day!

Spitlings is really the archetype of games that are fun for the moment. A simple pastime, which is easy to pick up and difficult to put down. The price tag is very modest and many hours of entertaining pastime are promised. I can therefore do nothing but recommend Spitlings!
