Ring releases home alarm system in Sweden

Amazon-owned company Ring announces that their home alarm system, Ring Alarm, is now being released in Sweden.

For installation, the base station is connected via wifi or network cable and the contact sensors are placed at doors and windows as well as motion detectors where desired. Users then receive real-time notifications when someone enters a room, opens a window or manually closes the alarm through the keypad on Ring Alarm’s base station.

Ring Alarm is installed via the Ring app and can also be integrated with the company’s other products such as Call Video Doorbells and their variety security cameras. Call Alarm can also be integrated with selected units with Alexa to be alerted on or off or check status through voice commands.

The Ring Alarm Security Kit is out now and costs SEK 3,299, which includes a base station with siren speakers, keypad, door or window contact sensor, motion detector and range extender.

The company’s subscription service Ring Protect Plus, which costs 10 euros a month, includes backup, 30 days of video storage, mobile network connection for the base station (if the internet is down) and “assisted monitoring” where up to three selected contacts are automatically dialed in case of an alarm event if the main user is not available.
