Samsung has finally presented the next generation Z Fold as the third in turn and we have a phone that impresses with design and build quality.
Foldable phones have still not really gained a foothold, but this seems to be able to change a bit when more manufacturers than just Samsung have foldable phones in the works.
It’s finally time for a new generation Z Fold and this time we get a phone that has really gotten a boost when it comes to design and Samsung seems to have learned from its mistakes and improved a lot of previous problems. Z Fold 3 5G is, among other things, IPX8-rated now, which means that the phone can be in 1.5 meters deep water for 30 minutes, short and good waterproof and maybe even waterproof.
Z Fold 3 retains roughly the same size on the outside where we still find a 6.2 inch screen but now runs with a Dynamic Amoled 2X panel which, among other things, provides better HDR support and finally 120Hz. On the inside we find a slightly larger screen of 7.6 inches and which is also Dynamic Amoled 2X panel. Some news with the big screen is, among other things, that it has support for the S-pen now and we get to enjoy 120Hz also on the big screen.
What protects the phones now is the new Gorilla Glass Victus, which is supposed to be the most durable glass to date and may probably be needed in a phone like the Z Fold 3.

Software in Z Fold 3 plays a big role and this is something that Samsung has worked a lot on and created several smart solutions for, among other things, multitasking and made the software simply smarter for a foldable phone. It will be easier to switch between apps and if you want to use several apps at the same time, it is possible, you can for example use the calculator over an excel document directly on the phone.
Cameras have never been the strongest side of Z Fold phones and neither this time. On the back we find three sensors of 12MP where we as usual have three different modes, standard, wide angle and telephoto zoom. The selfie camera on the front, or rather behind the big screen, Samsung has this time chosen to “hide” the selfie camera behind the screen as best it can and of course it looks OK, but for some reason Samsung has chosen to use a sensor on only 4MP.
Samsung Z Fold 3 will be offered in two different versions 256 and 512GB, Z Fold 3 will cost from SEK 19,490 for 256GB and 512GB will cost SEK 20,490 and we will be able to buy Z Fold 3 going on sale on August 27.
