SteelSeries unveils two new headsets, the Arctis 7+ and Arctis 7P +

For the end of the year, SteelSeries continues to expand its range of helmets with the Arctis 7+ and Arctis 7P + respectively. Autonomy seems to be at the center of the manufacturer’s interests here.

The two new products in the SteelSeries catalog are wireless headsets. The “+” symbol is there to indicate to the user that these are upgraded versions. In this case it is a better battery (in particular) compared to the more classic Arctis 7. The autonomy is indeed estimated at 30 hours against around 24 hours for the previous model. So there is a real difference.

Better connectivity

The connection is also more successful with a fast charge function which should allow the user to gain three hours of autonomy for 15 minutes of charging. Always very practical before going on a trip or when you only have to use a power outlet in a public place.

To satisfy gamers, as this is first and foremost goal number 1, SteelSeries has added a USB-C dongle. This is to improve multi-platform accounting, namely on PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch or even Android smartphone machines.

What to expect for audio rendering?

On the audio side because it is also what interests the music lover who sleeps in all of us, there are 40 mm neodymium speakers as well as a frequency response of 20 Hz – 20,000 Hz, an impedance of 32 Ohm and a sensitivity of 98 dB. The frequency response of the microphone is 100 – 6500 Hz with an impedance of 2200 Ohm. In 2.4 GHz the range of the headset is 12 meters.

The only major difference between the Arctis 7P + and 7+ headphones is a special design for sound and simply differs from the 7+ model with a design thought for 3D sound.

Sonar: The SteelSeries audio software

SteelSeries says on his site that the purchase of one of the two headsets provides early access to the Sonar audio software. It is a complete audio ecosystem that offers several things: the addition of 7.1 surround sound, the ability to change many of the audio characteristics of its headphones, and other features coming in 2022.

Strangely, the two helmet models are at the same price, namely 199 euros. They are gold and already available this way and this way.
