On Saturday 5 March, Stream of Hope will be organized to raise money for research and support on childhood cancer. The broadcast starts at 12:00 on the Twitch channel Streamofhopetv and lasts for 13 hours.
This year’s goal is to try to beat last year’s fundraising record of SEK 673,530.
New for this year is that children with cancer participate in teams together with well-known streamers and compete in various activities during the collection.
Hosts are Maracus “Tutsi” Toth, Fredrik “Jaegarn” Kempf and Kim “DraySWE” Larsson. Among the streamers who participate are Swebliss, Tejbz, Cartmens and Kalasotto. The stream will also be visited by people like Alexandra Nilsson, Antonija Mandir, Roy Nader and Viktor Klemming.
– The gaming world has an important function for many children who undergo treatment for cancer, which at times can mean that you are socially isolated. Therefore, it feels natural to use this forum as a way to shed light on the issue and raise important funds for research against childhood cancer. More money is needed for more children to survive, says Nathalie Hillerström, project manager at the Childhood Cancer Foundation in a press release.
– I want to be part of supporting the fundraiser to help children who receive treatment and so they receive better treatment in the future. I also want more children to survive, says Isabelle, 9 years old, who in 2021 finished her
treatment for acute lymphocytic leukemia and is one of the team captains during the Stream of Hope.
