Summary: Nintendo Partner Showcase August 2020

Nintendo sneaked out a mini-presentation earlier today, focusing on what partner studios and publishers have in their sights. The focus was on games that will be released soon and will be over in just over ten minutes (see video link in the header). Below is a simple summary of the broadcast.

Kingdom Hearts comes to Switch, as a rhythm game

Music is one of the big selling points behind it Kingdom Hearts, which Square Enix now coins strike off with Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory. This will be released on November 15 and will have an exclusive game mode on Switch: a battle mode for 8 players locally, to show who has the RPG rhythm in their blood.

More music games with FUSER

Harmonix presented its new music game FUSER. Here it is important to collaborate with other players, both as the rhythm maker and as an audience. The game has an unspecified release date this fall.

Taiko no Tatsujin becomes RPG

The music game Taiko and Tatsujin intersects with the RPG genre and draws turn-based battles, map exploration and monster capture into their world. The result looks like a traditional Japanese role-playing game with a fighting system that requires a sense of rhythm. The release date is unspecified for winter this year.

World of Tanks Blitz out now

Can be downloaded now at the moment, completely free. Contains microtransactions as on other platforms.

Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions

SaGa Collection

Three forgotten Game Boy titles now get their own trilogy edition in Collection of SaGa: Final Fantasy Legend. The collection will be released on December 15 and contains a number of improvements over its original editions.

Just Dance 2021 will be released on November 12

Actually not for the Wii this time.

Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 is coming for Christmas

Battles for up to four players online and the new game mode Skill Battle Mode. A new story mode is also coming. Release date December 8.

And the last quick pucks:

  • Jump Force Deluxe Edition released August 28
  • Captain Tsubasa: Rise of new Champions released August 28

Nintendo promises more mini-presentations from partners for the rest of the year, just like during the indie presentation the other day. But surely you want to see a little of what they themselves have in store now?
