Tasks: Cheaper alternative to Pro Display XDR in progress

Update (2022-01-03):

According to one newsletter from Bloomberg’s Apple expert Mark Gurman we will see a cheaper version of the Pro Display XDR later this year.

The new model will cost about half as much as the Pro Display XDR, which means an expected price of just under SEK 30,000.

Apart from the fact that the maximum brightness is said to be lower, at the time of writing it is unclear what will separate the new monitor from the current model.

In this context, it can be mentioned that there is also a rumor of a direct sequel to Pro Display XDR. This should reportedly support Promotion and be equipped with an Apple chip, something that would open up for a number of smart features.

For those who want a screen from Apple, there may soon be more options than the crazy expensive Pro Display XDR to choose from.

Now comes new information from the often quoted and often credible Twitter profile Dylandkt, which claims that LG is currently developing two new screens that have the same specifications as today’s Imac 24 inch, and the upcoming Imac 27 inch.

Dylandkt claims that these are screens that will be sold as a standalone, Apple-branded screen. It should be added, however, that this could also be new Imac models, even if Dylandkt does not believe so.

According to the information, a 24-inch variant of this screen will not receive mini-LED lighting or 120 Hz Promotion technology. It gets, however, the 27-inch.
