The Twitch leak: a comment from Clavisters

Although the streaming platform Twitch has not yet publicly confirmed that the leaked documents are genuine, it is clear that the streaming platform’s source code and most valuable, sensitive and confidential user data have now been exposed.

The attack means that Twitch now needs to conduct an internal review and screening of the data and security protocol and is also a clear warning flag for others. It does not matter how advanced a company’s technology or product is, a company like Twitch must have the most up-to-date and comprehensive cybersecurity measures to protect the integrity of the company and its users.

Data is a company’s most valuable asset and flexible security measures are required to protect itself against the increasing number of attacks; everything from virus attacks, ransomware and insider threats, to various types of cyber attacks or data loss.
