Turrican is an ancient game series in the run ‘n gun genre that made itself known on consoles as well as home computers when it went. Turrican developed by the pioneers Factor 5, which would later be responsible for the games in Star wars: Rogue Squadronseries. Now ININ, the retro game publisher with the little extra, picked up the rights and publishes a big one Turrican-collection, Turrican Flashback, for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
Turrican Flashback contains the originals Turrican and Turrican 2, supplemented with Super Turrican and Mega Turrican (ie Super Nintendo and Sega Mega Drive game respectively). The package will be released both digitally and physically on January 29, ie now on Friday.
The game collection is presented as newly original, with modern control schemes, visual filters and other quality of life changes such as saving in real time or the ability to rewind time. For those of us who love Turricangames a lot for its soundtrack (signed Chris Hülsbeck) praises ININ for the achievements made to achieve a perfect reproduction of the original iconic tones.
Turrican Flashback costs about 300 kronor if you want to own it physically. The digital price tag is likely to be somewhat cheaper.
