Following posts made by actors Alex Martin and Edwin Gaffney, Ubisoft has confirmed that it’s not working on a Blade game. [updated]
Update: Ubisoft has now tweeted to confirm it’s not working on a Blade game, saying, “Sorry to slice up the rumors, we’re not making a Blade game but we can’t wait to see what our friends at Marvel Studios are cooking up for next year’s movie!”
Original story: A Blade game could potentially be on the way from Ubisoft, according to posts made by actors Alex Martin and Edwin Gaffney. Several images were shared, including one of Martin and Gaffney in mo-cap suits with Ubisoft hashtags, and a clapperboard noting the production as Marvel.
A Blade game could be on the way
The image above is of Blade in Marvel’s Midnight Suns, but it seems a full Blade game might also be on the way. As noted by Push Square, YouTuber JorRaptor discusses several pictures shared on Instagram by actors Alex Martin and Edwin Gaffney (these have since been rounded up into one post on Twitter by Rebs Gaming).
We see Martin and Gaffney in those mo-cap suits and with a Ubisoft badge with Ubisoft hashtags, and a clapperboard with the production as Marvel, with the director as B. Tariq — suggesting it’s Bassam Tariq, who is directing the upcoming Blade movie. There has been no official announcement or confirmation of an upcoming Blade game, so it’s worth taking these images with a pinch of salt — we’ll keep an ear out for any official news, but in the meantime, what do you think? Could a Blade game be on the way? Let us know what you think in the comments!
