Update 1.03 is here but not on Switch

It’s no longer a secret that the release of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is far from going as Rockstar Games and GTA fans hoped. The fault is many bugs and a generally sloppy achievement. The publisher has, however, promised and correct the differences that the games of the compilation suffer via updates. And the latest update has just arrived on most platforms.

Rockstar just released the update 1.03 from the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. Update which is intended for the PS5, Xbox Series X | S, PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of the game. Indeed, and as the title of this news indicates, the Switch version of the compilation is not affected this time.

According to the detailed list released by Rockstar Games, this update 1.03 brings more than 110 fixes. These are divided into several categories. First of all, there are the general fixes that apply throughout the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. Then there are the changes made to one of the three titles specifically. Next are the changes for the Xbox One trilogy. And to finish, there are the corrections which benefit especially the PC version of the compilation.

GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition

An update that casts a wide net

In general, Rockstar promises an improvement in the stability of its GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. He also explains that he fixed a bug that caused rain to appear indoors during cutscenes. Spelling errors have been corrected on various panels and other textures. And if this is not a fix, the editor explains having added the camera “cinematic“in all three games. The latter can be activated by scrolling through the different camera types.

As noted above, each of the three titles in the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition have received specific improvements. It can be a question of solving various problems such as the appearance of grass indoors during cutscenes. Concerns of backups or crashes of one of the games. But also the correction of problems related to textures, collision bugs or display defects.

Note that in GTA San Andreas specifically, this update 1.03 adds cloud cover at high altitude. Concretely, this means that when the player is at a height, in a building for example, and that he looks downwards, a kind of fog covers the ground. In short, many elements have been reviewed by the developers.

GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition still needs work

As a reminder, the US publisher apologized for the state of the compilation earlier this month. He then confessed that these games “were not launched in a state worthy of our quality standards. “And these statements suggest that this update 1.03 is not the last:

We have a strategy in place that will allow us to address technical issues and improve every game from now on. Each update will bring games to the level of quality they deserve.

Rockstar Games has not yet indicated anything regarding the arrival date on Switch of the next update of the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. As previously mentioned, the boxed versions of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be released on December 7th.
