Electronic Arts and Motive has announced two more updates Star Wars: Squadrons.
The first of these is now coming on Wednesday, November 25 and is part of version 3.0 of the game. In addition to the usual corrections in balance and bug fixes, new ship components and a new map will be added: Fostar Haven.
Fostar Haven is the mission you play as a TIE pilot during the prologue in Star Wars: Squadrons. Players have wanted to revisit this trading fort since the game’s launch and now have the chance to revisit the course in a bit of new garb in both Dogfight and Fleet Battle game modes.
The four new components of the update are the Boost Extension Kit (for Fighters and Bombers), ion rockets (for Fighters), prototype torpedoes with piercing capabilities (both Fighters and Bombers) and the anti-matter rocket (for the U-wing and TIE-Reaper).
SW Squadrons 4.0
In December, on an as yet unspecified date, update 4.0 will be released, providing two highly coveted ships: the B-wing and the TIE-Defender. Loyal Star Wars fans recognize these from, among others, Episode VI and the Rebel Assault games respectively. The developers promise that there will be good reasons to choose these over a Y-wing or TIE-Fighter – and vice versa.
With the December update also comes Custom Matches. These will give players more opportunities to set their own matches in terms of game mode, restrictions and bonuses.
