Again, YouTuber Modern vintage gamer reviewed emulators on Xbox Series X|S, this time the brand new ‘XBSX2’ method. This particular emulator looks hugely impressive, especially on Xbox Series S, so much so that MVG calls it “absolutely awesome” across the board.
But what’s the difference between this emulator and the one we’ve covered in the past? Well, the video breaks everything down, but in fact the XBSX2 emulator works really well on both current generation Xbox consoles, and it includes the ability to boost the resolution all the way up to 4K, and even beyond!
There’s a little snag here, and it’s one that the video goes into in detail. On Xbox Series S, MVG recommends sticking to 1440p res to get those higher frame rates, while Xbox Series X does a lot better on 4K resolution, which is understandable given the power difference. However, it is still possible to run Series S at 4K!
