Windows 11 has received its first major update. It is also Microsoft’s first “half-sized” update that deviates from Windows 10’s old model with two feature updates a year, both of which make major interventions in the system and are sent out separately from regular updates.
The new update instead takes place via several separate updates, both via Windows Update and as software updates via the Microsoft store. The latter involves, for example, a new version of the old faithful servant Notes.

Android apps
Support for Android apps via Amazon’s app store is now taking the step from the Windows Insider application to general launch. To begin with, just like the beta, it only applies to the American store (which, however, you can easily bypass) and only about 60 apps.
Better taskbar
The taskbar is a basic part of the Windows interface, but Windows 11 has made several changes here that have not been well received by users. Several of these are now being fixed. The clock is now displayed on all connected screens, and a new weather widget has been added to the taskbar. In addition, buttons are added to quickly turn off the microphone and camera, but strangely enough only in Teams and not in the entire system.

Media player
The media player is a new program that replaces Groove Music. It is a simple and functional player with basic playlist support but no other advanced features.
New Notes
The traditional Notes program has been modernized and now supports dark mode (and can follow the system setting for light and dark mode). But above all, it has finally received support to regret in several steps. And support for emoji, for those who care.
