The Xbox Insider Program today adds an exciting new Party Chat feature for members of the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring, as noise cancellation is included “to help produce cleaner sound in your Party Chat session.”
In theory, this should mean that background noises are better isolated from your chat when you’re in a Party (although of course this is also based on the headphones you’re using), and it will be enabled by default in the future:
“We’ve enabled a new feature that processes your microphone input through a noise reduction step to produce cleaner sound in your Party Chat session. The setting is enabled by default, but can be changed via the drop-down menu.”
If you’re part of the Alpha Skip-Ahead ring, you can start testing this feature today, and we assume it’ll be rolling out to the Alpha, Beta, and other Xbox Insiders in the relatively near future. rings.
In terms of a public rollout, we can look at anything from a few weeks to a few months, but it shouldn’t be too far off as long as everything goes smoothly. Let’s hope it makes a noticeable difference in the end!
